Working With Temporal Data in SQL Server
WEBRip | English | MP4 | 1024 x 768 | AVC ~430 kbps | 15 fps
AAC | 123 Kbps | 44.1 KHz | 2 channels | 3h 06mn | 591.2 MB

Genre: Video Tutorial / Development, Programming
Working with temporal data in SQL Server is not supported out of the box. Learn how to implement temporal support in a SQL Server database with all of the constraints needed, and how to optimize your temporal queries.

Although temporal data is part of many business applications, most RDBMS', including SQL Server, do not support it out of the box. However, before solving the problem, you need to understand it. After an introduction to temporal problems and constraints, you will learn how to implement the solutions. Many solutions are much simpler with the help of a special Interval CLR data type. Additional relational operators PACK and UNPACK are handy as well. Of course, these two operators do not exist in the Transact-SQL language. You will learn how to implement them with help of other language elements. Having a SQL Server solution for a problem does not mean the job is done. Of course, the next immediate issue is performance. Temporal queries that involve intervals are typically very IO and CPU intensive. For example, a test for overlapping intervals was solved with inefficient queries for years. However, a handful of solutions with fast queries was developed recently. This course introduces five different methods to get efficient queries that search for overlapping intervals, one of the most complex temporal problems. Of course, these solutions can be implemented for other temporal problems as well. All the solutions presented should work on any edition of SQL Server from 2008 to 2014.

Get back to the basics of sculpting.

The popularity of digital sculpting in recent years has produced a plethora of incredible artworks. Artists like Kolby Jukes, Rafael Grasseti, and Furio Tedeschi have showcased the creative potential and opportunity offered by digital sculpting that you and I can tap into. The only thing standing in our way is the time required to hone our sculpting skill set. So let's start practicing!

Every now and then I try to take a step back from the grind of technical production work and simply focus on the artistic skill set that is digital sculpting. No thought of retopology for deformation in mind, no consideration of map baking for efficient rendering, just pure sculpture.

Genre: eLearning | Language: English

LEARN HOW TO ANIMATE CHARACTERS WITH MECANIM

In this course we'll continue to learn about using Mecanim for rigged characters. This is the bread and butter for Mecanim and in this course we'll go over the process of using a humanoid rig along with a generic rig. Things you'll learn in this course include:

Using two different types of rigs and how to set them up within Unity
Controlling a character using a C# script
Using blend trees to blend between different animations
Adding masks to control body part specific animations
Using Inverse Kinematics to track objects with body parts

We'll start off by learning how to setup a humanoid rig, setup bones and range of motion for things like muscle settings. Next we'll start editing animation clips to be used within animation states. This will include learning how to properly loop animations for the various poses the character may have. Using this animation clip we'll go over using animation states, parameters and even a simple C# script to allow our character to walk.

Further animation states will be included within blend trees to control the turning animations of the character followed by full range of motion in every direction. Learn how to customize specific animations by using avatar masks and layers so that we may use animations on specific body parts like a hand waving while walking forward. Lastly we'll look at using Inverse Kinematics to create realistic movements for head tracking and physically grabbing objects using the characters rig as reference.

If you're looking create a fully controllable character in Unity then this course is for you.

Rigging is the art of preparing something for movement. What the skeleton and muscles are to the human body or the engine and wheels are to a car, so rigging is to 3D graphics. Therefore it's an extremely important part of the animation pipeline. And like a car engine and a human skeleton, rigging is a very technical skillset that can get complex.

This course goes through each individual aspect of creating a character concept art piece. We will take you through why we are using certain tools and how to use them effectively, from working with the chalk brush to selecting the colors.

We start by breaking it down into a simple way to sketch, color, and detail a character. The style is more of an animated, storybook look taking inspiration from our first iOS game, Eat Sheep. This farm wrangler would be considered a "bad guy" and we go through how to add elements that parallel his personality and what his role in the game is. I ONLY use the chalk brush for creating the entire character and is one of our basic brushes you can for free on our resources page or in this project's folder.

Hope you guys have as much fun watching these tutorials as I had making them and possibly learn something new you can apply to your own character concept art!
