Gnomon - Environment Design for Virtual Production in Unreal Engine 4 with Vladimir Somov
Video: h264, 1920x1080, 1703 kb/s, 30.00 fps | Audio: aac, 44100 Hz, 2 channels, 160 kb/s
Genre: eLearning | Duration: 127 mins | Language: English | File size: 2.3 GB

Virtual production is an emerging filmmaking method that uses real-time rendering to combine live-action footage with CG, first used on films like The Lion King and The Mandalorian TV series. In this 2-hour workshop, Vladimir Somov, former Principal Cinematics Artist on Assassin's Creed, For Honor, and Far Cry, shares the core concepts and techniques required for creating Virtual Production-ready environment art using Unreal Engine. He walks through the entire pipeline of creating the exterior and interior sets of an ancient temple - an environment that allows for the exploration of two scenarios for lighting and mood, so you can learn how to set up and tell a story with lighting and post-processing for different environments.
Screenshots
The workshop begins with a lesson on understanding how to work with references and shows how to create a custom construction kit and a trim material. You will learn how to set up Unreal Engine, what project settings and plugins to use and why, as well as how to organize and structure Unreal projects. Vladimir provides both practical and theoretical advice on effective and believable set dressing and lighting, and offers techniques to profile and optimize performance with tools like Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) from Nvidia. The workflow also includes a look inside the techniques used for capturing a basic cinematic with an animated character and a virtual hand-held camera operated by using a smartphone as a tracker.
While this workshop is targeted at beginners, some basic knowledge and understanding of Unreal Engine and 3D modeling is recommended before starting. 3ds Max, Quixel Bridge, and Quixel Mixer are used in conjunction with Unreal Engine 4. At the end of 2 hours, you should have a strong understanding of the entire process involved in creating real-time environment art, and feel confident with techniques that can be scaled up and applied to anything from a full LED volume Virtual Production to Cinematics and Post-Visualization.

Language: English | Size: 373 MB | Duration: 1h 34m

Learn how to "grantsmith" winning proposals, think like a funder, draft a solid boilerplate, and build relationships.
What you'll learn
Identify relevant government and private foundation funders
Draft solid and efficient proposal boilerplate language that can be used for years
Strategically align funder priorities, organizational mission, program design, program budgets
Use provided sample language as a guide in your own proposal writing
Requirements
Writing software and Adobe Acrobat Reader (to view PDFs)
The homework encourages students to focus on their nonprofit and its programs, so freelance writers should have a nonprofit / program in mind
Student should have working knowledge of their organization's goals, programs, and priorities
Description
Many nonprofits are worried about tax law changes affecting donations. To be competitive, you need to diversify and build your skills for generating revenue.
This course is designed for nonprofits that want to not only get better at writing successful proposals, but also get better at the process of researching and applying for foundation and government grants. The course is also for grant writers or freelance writers who want to offer their clients a more comprehensive approach to grant writing.
When you're done with the course, you'll have assembled one of the most powerful tools a nonprofit can have - a proposal boilerplate.
The boilerplate contains about 75% of the language you'll need as you're drafting proposals. Working on the boilerplate outside the pressure of a proposal deadline will result in language that is better-written, as well as more thoughtful and strategic. It will also set you up to be uber-efficient as you're writing proposals in the future.
Throughout this course we'll be using real examples and real language, and each lesson includes a transcript, so you can kickstart your own boilerplate.
You'll also be given strategies and tips for finding foundation and government grants, including
Identifying five relevant local foundations
Gathering information about grants at the local, state, and federal level for you to start pursuing
Finally, we'll be walking through key strategies for completing solid applications, including
Letters of intent
The budget
Meeting a funder's expectations
Each video session includes two downloads: a PDF of the slides in handout format, and a Word document transcript.
Who this course is for
Nonprofits, particularly small and new nonprofits, or those struggling to develop funder relationships
Freelance writers looking to add grant writing to their skillset

Skill Level: Beginner | Genre: eLearning | Language: English + srt | Duration: 1h 48m | Size: 254.6 MB

Creating web applications has usually presented a choice of tradeoffs: You can learn to code, or pay a developer thousands of dollars to do it for you. Or, you could use a web-based starter system, but then you're limited to what plugins are available to you. Enter Bubble, a new approach to an old problem. In this course, Jen Kramer shows you how to get started using this no-code platform that's targeted at people with limited technical backgrounds who want to develop web applications. After going over some of the basic Bubble functionality, Jen dives in and demonstrates how to use Bubble to build a quick application for making a grocery list. Through this project, she shows you how to use the Bubble editor, how to create, populate and update/edit a page in Bubble, how to add a login, and how to add style and interactivity to the app, and much more. If you don't have a coding background but have always wanted to create your own web apps, this may be the course for you.

High Waters: High Waters app is a crowdsourcing app which allows the users to notify each others of a flooded region. This app can literally save lives! In this app you will learn the following

Integrate MapKit with an iOS App

Learn to zoom into user's current location

Create custom annotations

Persist information to the Firebase Firestore cloud database

MapKit simulation techniques
