Description
Do you need to take the Texas Success Initiative exam also known as TSI, TSIA 2 exam. Do you need to better prepare for the math portion? If you answered yes to any of those questions, then this course is made for you. Keep in mind this course will only go over the math portion only.
The TSI (Texas Success Initiative) test is
a state-mandated assessment used by Texas public colleges and universities to check if incoming students are ready for freshman-level college coursework.
What the Test Covers
The current version of the exam is the
TSIA2 (Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2.0). It is untimed and split into two main areas:
English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR): Combines reading comprehension, grammar, sentence structure, and an essay.
Mathematics: Covers quantitative reasoning, algebraic reasoning, geometric and spatial reasoning, and probabilistic and statistical reasoning.
Purpose and Scoring
Placement, Not Admission: The TSI does not affect whether you are accepted into a college. Instead, your scores help academic advisors place you into the correct college-level courses or recommend developmental support classes if you need extra practice.
Not Pass/Fail: You cannot "fail" the TSI test; it simply diagnoses your current academic skill levels.
Who Needs to Take It?
All incoming students at Texas public institutions of higher education must take the test
unless they are exempt.
You may be exempt from the TSI test if you

Met specific college-readiness benchmarks on the
SAT, ACT, or STAAR (Algebra II / English III EOCs).
