Requirements
❗ No previous artificial intelligence experience is required.
❗ Basic experience using computers, web applications, or workplace productivity tools is sufficient.
❗ Familiarity with workplace activities such as email, documents, meetings, presentations, reports, or collaboration tools will help learners relate the examples to their own environment.
❗ The course provides general awareness and practical guidance and does not replace legal, privacy, cybersecurity, HR, compliance, or other professional advice specific to an organization or jurisdiction.
Description
This Course contains the use of artificial intelligence.
Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming part of everyday work.
Employees are using AI to draft emails, summarize documents, analyze information, brainstorm ideas, prepare presentations, write reports, generate images, assist with coding, conduct research, support customer service, and automate repetitive tasks.
These capabilities can significantly improve productivity, but they also introduce new risks.
What happens when confidential company information is pasted into an unapproved AI tool?
✨What if an AI-generated answer sounds convincing but is completely wrong?
✨Can you upload customer information, contracts, financial records, employee data, or source code into an AI assistant?
✨What happens when AI-generated content contains copyrighted material?
✨How should AI be used in recruitment, performance reviews, financial decisions, legal work, or other sensitive situations?
✨And how can employees recognize phishing, deepfakes, prompt injection, impersonation, and other AI-enabled security threats?
This course answers these questions from a practical workplace perspective.
Safe AI Use at Work is designed for everyday professionals who use, or may soon use, Generative AI as part of their jobs. You do not need to be a programmer, data scientist, cybersecurity specialist, or AI engineer.
The objective is simple:help you gain the productivity benefits of AI without creating unnecessary risk for yourself, your colleagues, your customers, or your organization.
The course begins by explaining AI and Generative AI in clear business language. You will understand what these technologies can do, where their limitations are, and why AI should be treated as an assistant rather than an unquestioned authority.
You will then learn how to classify workplace AI activities according to their risk. Brainstorming a generic presentation is very different from allowing AI to influence hiring, financial, legal, health, security, or employee decisions. Understanding this difference helps you determine when simple review is sufficient and when stronger approval, governance, or specialist involvement is required.
A major part of the course focuses onprivacy, confidentiality, and data protection. You will learn what information should never be casually entered into AI tools, including personal information, employee records, customer data, credentials, API keys, contracts, internal strategies, source code, financial records, incident information, and other sensitive material.
You will also explore why simply removing a person's name may not make information anonymous and how metadata, context, unique attributes, or combinations of details may still identify individuals or organizations.
The course then develops practical prompting skills. You will learn how to create clear workplace prompts using context, tasks, audience, format, tone, and constraints while minimizing the amount of sensitive information shared with the AI system.
But good prompting does not remove the need for verification.
AI systems can generate inaccurate facts, invented references, incorrect calculations, misleading summaries, insecure code, and recommendations that appear professional even when they are wrong. You will learn practical techniques for validating AI-generated information before relying on it or sharing it with other people.
The course also addressesbias, fairness, and human oversight. This becomes particularly important when AI is used in recruitment, employee evaluation, customer decisions, finance, healthcare, legal work, or other activities that can materially affect people.
You will learn why human review must be meaningful rather than a simple approval click, and why accountability ultimately remains with the people and organizations using AI.
Security receives dedicated attention throughout the course.
You will also learn why visual or audio clues alone are not enough to validate suspicious communications and how trusted, independent verification channels can help prevent AI-enabled social engineering attacks.
Intellectual property and copyright are also explored from a practical workplace perspective. You will learn why AI-generated content should not automatically be assumed to be copyright-free, owned by the user, non-infringing, or safe for unrestricted commercial use.
The course also introduces responsible AI principles including accountability, transparency, privacy, security, fairness, reliability, human oversight, and respect for people.
Realistic workplace examples are used throughout the course so that the concepts remain practical rather than theoretical.
You will also learn what to do when something goes wrong.
If confidential information is accidentally shared, credentials are exposed, unsafe output is used, or suspicious AI behavior is detected, employees need to know when to stop, preserve relevant evidence, report the situation, and follow their organization's incident processes rather than attempting to hide or independently resolve the problem.
This course is ultimately about developingAI literacy for the modern workplace.
✨ The goal is not to make every employee an AI expert.
✨ The goal is to create professionals who know how to ask
✨ Is this AI tool approved?
✨ Is this information safe to share?
✨ Can I trust this output?
✨ Should someone else review this?
✨ Could this decision affect another person?
✨ Am I using AI within my authority?
✨ Could the action create a privacy, security, legal, ethical, or reputational problem?
✨ What evidence do I need before I rely on the result?
These habits allow organizations to adopt AI confidently while maintaining professional judgment, security, privacy, trust, and accountability.
AI can help you work faster.
This course will help you use it safely, responsibly, and professionally.
