Polaris Sector ist ein 4X-Weltraum-Strategiespiel im Stil von Endless Space oder Master of Orion, in dem wir ein Imperium in einer unwirtliche Galaxie voller Gasplaneten, Sterne, Wildnis und tyrannischer Regime aufbauen. Die Eroberung des Systems ist ein Balanceakt, demonstrieren wir Stärke, verbünden sich unserer Rivalen gegen uns, zeigen wir Schwäche überfallen Plündere und Piraten unsere Planeten. Neben geschickter Diplomatie und Spionage, ist technisches Knowhow gefragt, denn in Polaris Sector entwerfen wir die Waffen und Raumschiffe unserer Weltraumflotte selbst. Nur wenn wir strategisch in Forschung investieren, gewinnt unsere Streitmacht wichtige Vorteile in Gefechten. Das zufällig generierte Sternensystem kann bis zu 900 Planeten beheimaten, deren Rohstoffe wir abbauen, die wir kolonialisieren und unterwerfen.
