Das rundenbasierte Strategiespiel befand sich seit Anfang März in der Early-Access-Phase. Zwei verfeindete Fraktionen, Skywatchers (Menschen) und Automata (Roboter), stehen sich gegenüber und kämpfen um die letzten Ressourcen auf der verwüsteten Erde. Geboten werden ein Tutorial, eine missionsbasierte Kampagne, ein Gefecht-Modus (Skirmish) und Online-Multiplayer-Gefechte. Last Days of Old Earth verwendet einen Sammelkarten-Ansatz und bietet einen Deck-Builder. Aktionspunkte und Ressourcen werden benötigt, um Karten aus einem Set auszuspielen, die Einheiten darstellen. Werden Einheiten bewegt, so verbraucht das Aktionspunkte. Außenposten und Gebietserweiterungen verringern allerdings die Anzahl der benötigten Aktionspunkte, mit denen man haushalten muss. Diese werden auch dafür benötigt, um den Initiativwurf in die Höhe zu treiben. Wer dann die Initiative gewinnt, darf anfangen.
