Joe Cocker - Fire it Up Live (2013) Blu-ray
Superstar Joe Cocker releases the first live recording in over 20 years: "Fire It Up - Live" documents the acclaimed "Fire it Up - Live" European tour, seen by millions of enthusiastic fans since launching in March 2013. Director of the concert film is Nick Wickham, known for his work with the Red Hot Chili Peppers ("Live at Slane Castle", 2003), the Foo Fighters ("Live at Wembley Stadium", 2008) and Rihanna ("Loud Tour Live at the 02", 2012).
"Fire it Up - Live" presents the complete show at Lanxess Arena Cologne in April 2013 as well as fantastic "Making Of" material of the memorable evening. "I am absolutely stirred," confessed Joe Cocker as part of the concert. "Today there are a lot of young artists on the go, so it's just great that so many people still come to us." This success is due to both a gifted artist who can sweep his audience along with the immense power of his voice alone, and the timeless magic of hits such as "With a Little Help of my Friends" "You Can Leave Your Hat On", "Unchain My Heart", "Up Where We Belong" or "You Are So Beautiful". A fascination that Cocker cannot escape himself: "'You Are So Beautiful' has always been one of the highlights of the show - but today he may even more captivate me. I recorded him in 1974 and his tune is still so powerful."
With "Fire It Up - Live" a monumental work in HD quality appears that not only has the highlights from Joe Cocker's current gold album "Fire It Up", but is considered a real "Best Of" collection from almost half a century of music history.
