Within the Yin yoga Central Meridian system, Meridians, are pathways in which energy travel within our tissues that run on each side of the body. Each meridian is correlated to an internal organ. The meridians communicate information to your organs, such as the need for temperature regulation, emotional regulation, & more. When your meridians & organs are in harmony, your body is more likely to be in a healthy condition. When you are experiencing disharmony, the meridians can become congested or blocked. This can have an effect on the mind-body-spirit connection.
Chakras are spinning energy centers that receive & express subtle energy & emotions. In the Hindu system, there are seven main chakras beginning at the root of the spine & ending at the top of the head. Each of these energy centers is associated with different body parts, as well as certain metaphysical aspects. Various experiences throughout our day-to-day life can affect our chakras in addition to trauma, & long-held emotions.
Nadi refers to the network of channels through which energy travels through the body. The number of Nadis that the body is believed to contain varies depending on the tradition, but there are three principal Nadis that weave through the spinal cord & chakras. The Nadis have a specific relationship with the Chakras & our energetic system.
This course is designed for all levels, including beginners, intermediate & advanced yoga practitioners. Anyone interested in the subtle energetic body systems, Yoga teachers who would like to expand their skills, & health care practitioners who want to provide the therapeutic benefits of yoga to their clients.
Akirayoga will gently guide you through both the Central Meridian System & Chakra System within the theoretical lectures. We apply the theory to our physical practices, offering intelligently built sequences & guided instructions that will allow you to settle into the physical practices without having to keep watching the screen. You can practice at your own pace in the comfort of your home & can come back to the course as often as desired. Chakra meditations are also offered, in addition to two breathing practices to affect the prana of the body.
