Genre: eLearning | Language: English

Meditation Instructions for Beginners, the ADHD, and the Totally Stressed-Out, who Want to Meditate but Just Can't.
You know meditation is good for you. Hell, all of your friends can't stop raving about it. Even your favorite celebrities have a 20-minute-a-day meditation habit. So you tried it. You sat down and expected all your troubles to vanish into the ether as you floated on a cloud of bliss. Who knows, you might even be reborn as the next Dalai Lama!
But that's not what happened, right? Instead of having this peaceful mind, you noticed your mind was more distracted than ever! Within seconds you lost track of your breath and began to think:
"Why am I thinking so much, what's wrong with me? Why can't I just clear my mind?"
"I don't have time for this, I have better things to do, like check Instagram."
"Ugh, I'm just one of those people who can't meditate."
Don't worry, these doubts are common. They come from common misconceptions about what meditation is. Here's a popular one: The goal of meditation is to clear your mind.
Nope, trying to clear you mind directly is impossible. Instead, any reduction in thoughts, any zen-like calmness that occurs, is a side-effect of doing what you are supposed to be doing - focusing on the breath.
This course is about clearing up these misconceptions and other obstacles that keep you from developing a meditation practice and reaping the rewards of a calm, balanced, and focused mind.
In this course you will learn:
*Proper Posture
*How to make meditation a habit that you will look forward to, and not a chore
*How to do mindfulness of breathing
*How to do walking meditation
... and much more..

Duration: 2 hours | Genre: eLearning | Language: English

Use stateless functional components and Styled Components to create a React Video Player
What you'll learn
React Hooks in stateless functional components
Styled Components
ES6 Syntax
Using Local Storage to persist state
Higher Order Components
React Router
Requirements
Basic Javascript knowledge
Basic Coding knowledge
Basic CSS knowledge
Description
Are you a developer and want to learn about the new React Hooks and Styled Components? Do you want a project oriented real world example? Do you like quick learning and straight down to the point? Then this is the course for you!
There's many great React.js courses out there but they're very huge and A LOT to grasp for beginners. My teaching style and belief is that you learn more by creating many smaller projects than one overwhelming 25 + hours course that tries to show you everything and don't focus on the fundamentals that much. So this is a 3 hour(ish) course where You'll learn how to create a Movie App from scratch based on The Movie DB API.
What will we do in the course?
We'll build a React Video Player where you can create a list of videos and select from the list. The Video Player can play both Vimeo and YouTube videos and will also persist state in local storage of played videos etc.
My main goal with this course is to mix fun with teaching. There's many tutorials and courses out there that are great but too complex and focus on a lot at the same time. Hope you enjoy this course as I did creating it.
In this course you'll learn:
- React Fundamentals with newly announced Hooks
- Stateless Functional Components
- JSX syntax and expressions
- Styled Components
- Higher Order Components (HOC)
- React Router
- Use Create-React-App
- Deploy the finished App
- ES6+ concepts and syntax
- Use Local Storage to keep state
Who this course is for:
developers that want to learn about React Hooks and Styled Components

Learn to Sing: Warm-Ups & Exercises For Busy People
MP4 | Video: AVC 1280x720 | Audio: AAC 44KHz 2ch | Duration: 39M | Lec: 26 | 108 MB
Genre: eLearning | Language: English

Vocal Exercises to Develop & Expand Your Singing Power and Freedom!
Vocal exercises custom-designed to strengthen your voice
Singing isn't a talent you're born with. Singing is a skill you can learn, and here's why: because every single day those with "natural talent" get surpassed by singers who work hard.
This is not a lofty dream, this is proven reality. One of Nathan's students several years ago was a young woman who came in for her first lesson literally only able to sing 5 pitches; everything else would crack or wouldn't come out at all. But she knew she wanted to sing more than anything. She studied these same techniques and practiced hard at home. In time, she had one of the top auditions for her school's honor choir.
If you can begin building a habit of singing often, with healthy technique, your voice will improve. That's what this course is all about.
Nathan's original vocal exercises are specifically designed to help singers release vocal tension, using lyrics and patterns that reinforce positive vocal habits. They are available to sing along with on video, or to download and print for personal or educational use.
You may also be interested in the complete vocal course, which contains a thorough series of training lessons that guide you through all sorts of techniques you'll need to master to become a solid singer. Search for it among our additional courses, which also includes Piano Building Blocks, a fun and simple method for learning to play piano by chord.
Nathan has a B.A. in Vocal Music Education and leads worship weekly at a growing church in Iowa. He's a composer, pianist, and guitarist. He was section leader in one of the top college choral ensembles in the nation, and he's taught scores of voice students in private lessons.

Genre: eLearning | Language: English

How does your policy or programme impact people's wellbeing? Is it good value?
This free video-based course is based on a live course delivered to policy makers and practitioners in October 2017. Comprising of theory and practical exercises, it will will teach you a useful new way to measure the direct relationship between any policy or programme and its impact on people's wellbeing. It draws on fresh, practical thinking from Lord Gus O'Donnell, Professor Richard Layard and other leading policy and wellbeing experts to give you the tools to calculate whether your policies or interventions are cost effective.
If you create or influence national or local policy, or run public programmes, you probably already know that improving people's wellbeing is the ultimate goal of any policy or public service. This is true whether it's within employment, health, planning, economics or any other sector.
Yet, until now, there's been no way to understand what's the best value for money when it comes to designing policies and programmes that improve people's lives.
That's why we are excited to announce this course, designed by the LSE and the What Works Centre for Wellbeing. It lays out what factors determine wellbeing, then dives straight into the big ideas behind this transformative way of making and shaping policy.
What you'll learn
