Genre: eLearning | Language: English

Modelling your domains with F#

This course aimed at students with beginner to intermediate skill in F#, basic understanding of the F# syntax and a light functional understanding would be beneficial. You'll also need a computer with Linux, OSX or Windows with F# installed and an internet connection.

Have you wanted to understand how to 'do' F# in your day job? Well, this course demonstrates how you can use Test Driven Development and the F# type system in tandem to write a domain for any problem you are attempting to solve.

What will we do?
We will complete an F# library project together,

We will start by defining the concepts of the domain, using some tips from Domain Driven Design, but predominantly working in the area of Test-Driven Development whilst harnessing the power of the F# type system. We will explore every line of code together and point out all the important programming concept as we progress.
What is f#?
F# is a mature, functional-first, general purpose language especially well suited to computer science, machine learning, distributed computing and web applications, Domain Driven Design and Test-Driven Development too. There really is no limit to what F# can do for you!

We've structured the course to make learning all the material as easy and accessible as possible. We'll challenge you to complete an F# programming task in every video to make sure you've got a great grip on all the concepts. But don't worry, because after every challenge, we'll also walk you through a solution line by line.

We have structured the course to introduce you to some computer science and functional concepts, but to also encourage you to spend your own time to gain further insights into the Domain Driven, Test-Driven concepts we introduce you to.

If you want to program with a language that has computer science at its heart and want to future proof your learning then this course is for you.

Byte-Sized-Chunks: C++ Templates and the STL
MP4 | Video: AVC 1280x720 | Audio: AAC 44KHz 2ch | Duration: 2 Hours | 768 MB
Genre: eLearning | Language: English

Compile-time polymorphism via templates, C++ casts, containers, algorithms and iterators - all will make sense now!

Like a gruff uncle, C++ seems intimidating, when its just being helpful. These examples will help you understand that.

Let's parse that.

C++ seems intimidating because all too often, what you see is not what you get.
Usually, that's because C++ is trying to help you, but you don't realise that. C++ is incredibly deep, and it sometimes struggles to get you - the programmer - to understand what it's saying
These examples will help. Each is self-contained, has its source code attached, and gets across a specific C++ use-case. Each example is simple, but not simplistic.
What's Included:

Templates are a classic generic programming technique that were revolutionary when first added to C++. Understand template functions and classes, as well as template specializations.
STL - the Standard Template Library - is incredibly powerful. Get a good sense of collections, iterators and algorithms - the major components of the STL
C++ casts are quite different than C-casts. Understand const_cast, static_cast and dynamic_cast, as well as Real Time Type Identification (RTTI), and the manner in which explicit conversions can be performed using static_cast

Byte-Sized-Chunks: Dynamic Prototypes in Javascript
MP4 | Video: AVC 1280x720 | Audio: AAC 44KHz 2ch | Duration: 3 Hours | 926 MB
Genre: eLearning | Language: English

Master Javascript's way of doing inheritance - via Dynamic Prototypes!

Javascript objects, prototypes and JSON - that's what this course is about.

This is not a course on Javascript frameworks - its about solid, fundamental Javascript. You'll be surprised by how much more you can get done on your web pages once you learn these technologies the right way.

What do we mean by that?

Relatively few folks formally learn HTML, CSS or Javascript, because its quite easy to get stuff done in these technologies in a "quick-and-dirty way".
That "quick-and-dirty" way of learning and doing leads to problems over time, because Javascript and CSS are actually quite complex, so it is easy to do things the wrong way
This course will help, because it is entirely built atop examples. Each is self-contained, has its source code attached, and gets across a simple, specific use-case. Each example is simple, but not simplistic.
What's Included:

Prototypes are Javascript's way of doing inheritance, and its very different from the C++/Java way of doing it.
JSON is not conceptually difficult to use, but it is incredibly important, and you should understand why - because its the glue between backends written in Java or other traditional languages, and front-ends written in Javascript
The Document-Object-Model is what ties Javascript back to HTML and CSS. Together with JSON, the DOM ties it all together from server to skin.

MP4 | Video: AVC 1280x720 | Audio: AAC 44KHz 2ch | Duration: 5.5 Hours | 1.51 GB
Genre: eLearning | Language: English

A visual way to master basic data structures for strong fundamentals!

This is an animated, visual and spatial way to learn data structures and algorithms

Our brains process different types of information differently - evolutionarily we are wired to absorb information best when it is visual and spatial i.e. when we can close our eyes and see it
More than most other concepts, Data Structures and Algorithms are best learnt visually. These are incredibly easy to learn visually, very hard to understand most other ways
This course has been put together by a team with tons of everyday experience in thinking about these concepts and using them at work at Google, Microsoft and Flipkart
What's Covered:

Big-O notation and complexity
Stacks
Queues
Trees
Heaps
Talk to us!

Mail us about anything - anything! - and we will always reply :)
