Scilab for beginners
MP4 | Video: AVC 1280x720 | Audio: AAC 44KHz 2ch | Duration: 2 Hours | Lec: 10 | 259 MB
Genre: eLearning | Language: English

Learn Easy Matrices, Vectors and Scalars Computation

Scilab for Beginners" takes a little bit more than 1 hour to introduce you to the main feature of Scilab: Matrices, Vectors and Scalars computation.

The videos include many Scilab sessions to demonstrate the matrices, vectors and scalars definition and manipulation.
The "basic" operations introduced here are not so basis, as they are globally managed matrices, vectors and scalars manipulation.

The addition and subtraction are intuive, as they are element by element operations. But the multiplication is the matricial global one, and you have to know a littke bit of linear algebra to understand it. The exponent and even matrices division are also introduced in that course.

By the end of the course, you will be able to use Scilab as a high level caculator. You will be also ready to use Scilab as a laboratoty in our forthcoming series of courses in practical mathematics.

Shifting JavaScript into High Gear with Web Workers (2016)
October 2016 | MP4 | Video: AVC 1280x720 | Audio: AAC 44KHz 2ch | Duration: 2 Hours | 261 MB
Genre: eLearning | Language: English

This course dives into what web workers are and provides practical demonstrations showing how they can be used to add parallel processing capabilities to a web application.

In recent years, JavaScript has risen to become one of the most important languages in modern software development. However, despite the powerful engines that run it, it is often limited by its single-threaded nature. In this course, Shifting JavaScript into High Gear with Web Workers, you will learn how to work around that constraint in web applications by using the WebWorker API to allow your application to take advantage of the full power that your customer's computers have to offer. First, you will get to see why web workers are the preferred solution for adding parallel execution paths to an application. Next, you'll get a step-by-step overview of the various aspects of working with web workers, such as defining messages and what APIs can be accessed from within a worker. Finally, you'll see how web workers can be added to a real-world application in a way that causes the smallest disruption possible to the application's structure, while gaining the advantages inherent with workers. After finishing this course, you will be ready to implement web workers into your multi-threaded applications with minimum hassle.

Learn Transact-SQL Language by a Project Fast

For those of you who have not written a line of code in SQL Server it may look a bit a bit of pain in brain but actually when you get used to it you will never go for GUI!

Waht is GUI by the way?! It is the graphical side to SQL Server and it is amazing! But it has one big drawback; it does not keep records of the steps yu take to create and manage your data!

When you write codes, not only you can check your steps and actions later, your colleagues can understand what is going on there because everything is saved in scripts.

What you get here is a primer but I promise this will be and ever changing course in case you ask for improvements and more information to digest!

And of course, this course is downloadable and you can watch it offline anywhere.

You can post your questions and discussions here and I will try to answer all of them and in case you do not like this course, you can opt out the course in a month from your enrollment.

In this crash course you will learn:

concepts of relational databases
how to create a database with its most common parameters such as size, maxsize, disk placements and file growth
how to define tables with a look at common data types used for storing data
best practices for data sizing and most efficient storage usage
adding primary keys to a table so that you can locate a piece of data uniquely and order data phisycally
-creating relations between tables using foreign keys and implementing the concept of normalization so that you do not need to store duplicate information
manipulation commands such as INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE and seeing them in action
SELECT command for retrieving data stored in tables
using JOINs for retrieving data from two or more tables where you can apply INNER JOIN and get relative information or apply OUTER JOIN and receive all information in one category and related information if exists
programming in T-SQL and using local and system variables, executing multiple commands and manipulating data
creating stored procedures so that you can combine multiple commands into one compiled unit that can be called with a name, used in other batches and stored procedures and hide the structure of tables

The Origin and Evolution of Earth: From the Big Bang to the Future of Human Existence
48xDVDRip | WMV/WMV3, ~2000 kb/s | 640x360 | Duration: 25:21:36 | English: WMA, 128 kb/s (2 ch) | + PDF Guide
Size: 21.5 GB | Genre: History, Biology, Astronomy, Sciecne

The story of Earth is an epic filled with crises, catastrophes, and remarkable, repeated change. Earth traces its origin to simple atoms that were created in the big bang, transformed into heavy elements in stellar explosions, and then forged into a planet inside the nebula that gave birth to the solar system. Like many other planets, Earth went through phases of melting,

volcanism, and bombardment by asteroids. But only on Earth did events lead to a flourishing biosphere-life. And once life was established, it drove the evolution of our planet in startling new directions.

Most amazing of all, the evidence for every step in this intricate process is all around us-in the thousands of minerals in rocks above and below ground. Consider these intriguing clues:

Diamond: Created under extreme pressure, diamond may very well be the first mineral formed in the universe. Together with a dozen other minerals, it helped seed the solar nebula with dust that became the planets.
Great Oxidation Event: Earth's iron deposits are a relic of the earliest photosynthetic life, which introduced large amounts of oxygen into the atmosphere, promoting the oxidation of rocks and the production of metal-rich minerals.
Plate tectonics: Many distinctive minerals are associated with plate tectonics, the ceaseless motion of Earth's crustal plates for more than 3 billion years. This process has had a profound impact on climate, the atmosphere, the oceans, and the development of life.
Cambrian explosion: Changes over billions of years led to altered mineral chemistry in the oceans that made animal shells, bones, and teeth possible. Life exploited these structures in a burst of evolution 540 million years ago called the Cambrian explosion.

Minerals are fundamental to the story of Earth in many ways. Not only are we living beings nourished by minerals, but minerals provide the resources and energy that are crucial to modern civilization. Beyond that, the evolution of minerals has played a central role all across the surface of the planet and throughout its interior. Minerals turn out to be much more than beautiful crystals; they provide outstanding clues to our origins and they are major players in a drama of unimaginable scope.

The Origin and Evolution of Earth: From the Big Bang to the Future of Human Existence lets you experience firsthand the thrill of piecing together the epic story of Earth in an enlightening new perspective. In 48 half-hour lectures available in both video and audio formats, you follow events from the big bang to the formation of Earth to the many twists and turns in our planet's evolution. You discover how a young universe populated with only a few elements became a cosmos of infinite variety characterized by life-thanks to minerals. Your professor is the noted scientist who pioneered the study of mineral evolution, Professor Robert M. Hazen of George Mason University and the Carnegie Institution's Geophysical Laboratory.

A prominent field geologist, laboratory mineralogist, collector, popular author, and award-winning teacher, Professor Hazen is also a nationally recognized advocate for science education and the perfect guide for an in-depth investigation of breakthrough scientific concepts. In a course suitable for scientists and nonscientists alike, he recounts Earth's story through 10 stages of mineral evolution. Each stage resculpted our planet's surface, introducing new planetary processes and phenomena. By stage 6, life was an integral part of this process, and you learn that life is ultimately responsible for almost two-thirds of the mineral species on Earth-thousands of unique crystals that could only exist on a living world.
