Critical Roles Consultants Play (and the Skills You Need to Fill Them)
MP4 | Video: AVC 1280x720 | Audio: AAC 44KHz 2ch | Duration: 1 Hours 11M | 529 MB
Genre: eLearning | Language: English

New consultants are often surprised by how agile they need to be to fulfill client expectations. The role you play may vary from contract to contract, or even shift within the same engagement. This course helps prepare you for the many different roles a consultant must play and succeed in the challenging world of consulting. Bob McGannon explains how your role differs from your job and how you can assess the needs of your client right at the start of the engagement. He then reviews the seven major roles-technical expert, manager, team leader, follower, reviewer, critic, and implementer-explaining when each role is most useful to your client. Live-action scenarios help you see the roles in action and apply what you have learned. In the final chapter, Bob discusses how to close the engagement, emphasizing the value your role has provided in order to position yourself for the next one.

Building Machine Learning Models in SQL Using BigQuery ML
MP4 | Video: 1280x720 | Duration: 1h 27m | 178 MB | Project Files
Author: Janani Ravi | Language: English | Skill level: All Levels

BigQuery ML on the Google Cloud Platform democratizes machine learning by allowing data analysts and engineers to build and use machine learning models directly from SQL without using any higher level programming language.
This course demonstrates how to build and train machine learning models for linear and logistic regression using SQL commands on BigQuery, the Google Cloud Platform's serverless data warehouse. In this course, Building Machine Learning Models in SQL Using BigQuery ML, you'll learn how to build and train machine learning models and how to employ those models for prediction - all with just simple SQL commands on data stored in BigQuery. First, you'll understand the different choices available on the GCP if you would like to build and train your models and see how you can make the right choice between these services for your specific use case. Then, you'll work with some real-world datasets stored in BigQuery to build linear regression and binary classification models. Because BigQuery allows you to specify training parameters to build and train your model in SQL, machine learning is made accessible to even those who are not familiar with high-level programming languages. Last, you'll study how to analyze the models that we built using evaluation and feature inspection functions in BigQuery, and run BigQuery commands on Cloud Datalab using a Jupyter notebook that is hosted on the GCP and closely integrated with all of GCPs services. By the end of this course, you'll have a good understanding of how you can use BigQuery ML to extract insights from your data by applying linear and logistic regression models.

Onboarding New Employees: Increase retention and performance
MP4 | Video: AVC 1280x720 | Audio: AAC 44KHz 2ch | Duration: 1 Hour | Lec: 17 | 348 MB
Genre: eLearning | Language: English

Learn how to optimize your onboarding process to enable new hires to be productive and efficient as soon as they start
Did you know your business could be throwing away at least $4,000 with each new hire if you have a poor onboarding process in place?
If you can believe that, then you won't be surprised to learn that:
One third of all external hires are no longer with an organization after two years
15% of new hires leave a business almost immediately if the onboarding process is poor
Lack of onboarding training can lead to a loss of 60% of a company's entire workforce
Approximately 35% of companies spend zero dollars on onboarding
Pretty staggering statistics, don't you think?
So the question then becomes ...
What are you doing to ensure a smooth onboarding process for your new hires?
Because let's face it ... if you're not mastering your onboarding process, you're literally throwing away money that could be invested back into your business.
When done right, an effective onboarding process can:
Increase employee retention by 25%
Improve employee performance by 11%
And, most surprisingly, can help keep more than 69% of employees with your company for 3 years or more!
It certainly pays to have an effective onboarding process in place.
So how exactly can you optimize your onboarding process to make sure new employees are excited, feel comfortable, and are both productive and efficient from day one?
Well, that's exactly what we're going to cover in this course.
We'll cover:
Why onboarding is such an important function within your business
Creating an onboarding checklist to organize and track progress during the onboarding process
Onboarding lessons you can apply from different industries
How to prepare your team for a new team member
Day one with your new hire and what to do if they're a remote worker
Pairing your new hire with a mentor and other unique onboarding tactics
How to properly evaluate your onboarding process for adjustments and improvements
Beyond onboarding: How to support your new hire when they're no longer "new"
By the end of this course, you'll have everything you need to set up an onboarding process that effectively orients new hires and allows them to be productive and efficient as soon as they start.
