Depeche Mode - Sounds of the Universe (The 12" Singles) [Vinyl, 7x12"] (2023) Hi-Res
A monumental milestone in the band's modern era, Depeche Mode's 'Sounds of the Universe | The 12" Singles' collector's edition box set offers an exhaustive, definitive exploration of the band's 2009 studio album syntax. Housed across seven individual 12-inch vinyl records, this collection chronicles the dark, retro-futuristic synth landscapes that defined the era. Driven by Martin Gore’s analog synthesizer obsessions and Dave Gahan’s soaring, commanding vocal performances, the release centers around the crushing, industrial-tinged march of "Wrong", the ethereal pop bliss of "Peace", and the atmospheric depths of "Fragile Tension" and "Hole to Feed".
This highly coveted box set serves as a masterclass in electronic remix culture, compiling an incredible array of rare, promotional, and club-ready alternate interpretations. Sourced from the premium 2023 Venusnote European pressing, the discs showcase breathtaking electronic reinventions from a stellar lineup of underground icons, including Trentemøller's haunting cinematic dubs, Stephan Bodzin's deep techno architecture, Ben Klock's heavy minimalism, and high-energy cuts by Boys Noize and Peter Bjorn and John. Expertly digitized into ultra-transparent 24-bit / 192 kHz resolution by acclaimed archivist thezabs, this transfer utilizes a top-tier Rega P10 reference turntable with an Apheta 3 moving coil cartridge and a PS Audio NuWave Phono Converter ADC, flawlessly capturing every deep analog synth frequency, room echo, and dynamic nuance with immaculate clarity.
