Depeche Mode - Black Celebration (The 12" Singles) [Vinyl, 5x12"] (2019) Hi-Res
Representing the definitive, dark-tinged masterpiece that solidified their transition into gothic electronic landscapes, Depeche Mode's 'Black Celebration | The 12" Singles' deluxe collector's box set offers an exhaustive celebration of their seminal 1986 studio album. Marking a radical departure toward darker, industrial textures, heavy metallic sampling, and profound atmospheric melancholia, the album remains a towering fan favorite. Driven by Dave Gahan's brooding, resonant vocal deliveries and Martin Gore's deeply emotional, introspective songwriting, this pivotal era delivered timeless alternative anthems including the magnificent industrial-pop masterpiece "Stripped", the hauntingly tender ballad "A Question of Lust", the aggressive synth-driven drive of "A Question of Time", and the synth-pop brilliance of "But Not Tonight".
Housed across five individual 12-inch vinyl records, this comprehensive box set stands as the ultimate document of the band's mid-80s golden era of extended mixes, iconic club variations, and historic live expansions. Sourced from the premium 2019 Venusnote European pressing, the collection compiles legendary alternate versions—highlighted by the soaring "Stripped (Highland Mix)" and the propulsive "But Not Tonight (Extended Remix)"—alongside fascinating studio experiments like "Breathing in Fumes" (a radical deconstruction of Stripped) and the elusive "Black Celebration (Black Tulip Mix)". It also features an incredible selection of raw, energetic live recordings captured during the legendary Black Celebration Tour. Meticulously archived into pristine 24-bit / 192 kHz resolution by the master archivist thezabs, this transfer utilizes a reference Rega P10 turntable, an Apheta 3 MC cartridge, and a PS Audio NuWave Phono Converter, flawlessly capturing every heavy low-end synthetic bassline, sweeping analog noise filter, and historic transient with absolute fidelity.
