Breath of Fire IV

Extract the "Breath of Fire IV" folder to wherever you like and because this game
doesn't work straightaway with Win7 or anything above WinXP, first start "dxwnd.exe".
It's THE compatibility program for old games.
In DXWnd, right-click the "Breath of Fire IV" profile and select "Modify". Now reselect
the Path to your "BOF4.exe" only (circle in front of the profile should become green)
and the game should work from now on.
To actually play the game, first start the configured "dxwnd.exe" and then "BOF4.exe".
Or start "dxwnd.exe" and double click the "Breath of Fire IV" profile. Another method,
just use "BOF4.bat", it will start DXWnd and Breath of Fire IV successively.
Notes:
- DXWnd is configured to start the game in fullscreen and with your native resolution
- at least XInput gamepads should work in-game, in addition to a keyboard
- try to change more settings in DXWnd, like Filtering, DirectInput etc.
- important is "DirectX > Emulation > Primary Buffer", you can change that to
"Locked Surface" on graphics problems - otherwise don't touch this setting
- don't delete the "redist" folder, it belongs to DXWnd
- if you messed something up, delete the profile and reimport "Breath of Fire IV.dxw"
