Die Jagd-Simulation theHunter: Call of the Wild bietet eine 50 Quadratmeilen große Open-World, in der Spieler in dichten Wäldern, Feldern und Tälern verschiedenen Tieren wie Bisons oder Hirschen nachstellen können. Dabei werden nicht nur das Tierverhalten sondern etwa auch Wetterereignisse, der Tag- und Nachzyklus und selbst der Wind simuliert, die alle Auswirkungen auf das Jagderlebnis haben können. Neben dem Singleplayer-Modus stehen in the Hunter: Call of the Wild auch kooperative sowie kompetitive Multiplayer-Optionen für bis zu acht Spieler zur Verfügung.
