F1 2016 ist ein Rennspiel von Codemasters mit den offiziellen Lizenzen der Formula One. Erneut kommt die EGO-Engine zum Einsatz. Neu sind unter anderem das Safety Car und das Virtual Safety Car und die neue Strecke in Baku, Aserbaidschan. Der Karrieremodus wurde deutlich ausgebaut: Der läuft nun über ganze zehn Saisons, in denen Spieler Aufgaben ihrer Teams erfüllen müssen. Als Menü dient ein Team-Bereich, in dem der Spieler mit seinen Chefingenieur und Agenten interagiert und Entscheidungen für den Wagen und die Karriere fällt. Ein Rollenspielsystem kommt mit Forschung und Entwicklung: Wer seinen Wagen testet, erhält entsprechende R&D-Punkte zum Ausbau des eigenen Wagens.
