Robbie Calvo's - The Rhythm Architect
DATA-DVD | English | MP4 + PDF tabs + MP3 jam tracks | 720 x 406 | AVC ~705 kbps | 29.970 fps
AAC 128 Kbps 44.1 KHz | 2 channels | ~4 hours | 1.63 GB

Genre: eLearning Video / Guitar lesson

Put that meat cleaver away! Robbie Calvo's Rhythm Architect cracks the code for crafting the ideal rhythm guitar part for any rock, pop, funk, R&B or blues tune. Better yet, Robbie's syllabus is so accessible and intuitive that you'll find these lessons easier to absorb than tying your shoes. No tedious theory to muddle through. No chord dictionary to memorize. No boring exercises to work through. You'll simply play your way through the course putting what you learn to immediate use.

Nashville session player, singer-songwriter, six-string wizard and all-around educational maestro, Robbie Calvo is the musician's musician. Robbie's playing is described as "flawless and inspired" and his workshops are jammed with pros across all styles of guitar. Calvo's TrueFire courses have generated a cult-like following amongst students. Sweet Notes, RhythmCraft and SoloCraft rose to the top of our charts almost immediately after their introduction. The Rhythm Architect is sure to follow.

You'll learn how to craft the perfect chord voicing, apply the most appropriate rhythmic pattern, play killer bubble parts or fills, and most importantly - develop the creative and technical skills necessary to make your parts not just complementary but majorly distinctive as well.

The Rhythm Architect is comprised of 17 sets of lessons, referred to by Robbie as "Blueprints." Each Blueprint features a stylized rhythm section foundation with multiple guitar parts layered on top.

Robbie first overviews the blueprint and then steps you through the what, whys and wherefores for each guitar part. In turn, working with the layered rhythm tracks, you'll learn, playalong and then perform each part until you have a solid grip on all of the guitar parts - 50 guitar parts in total! In addition to all of the main tracks, Robbie also recorded 5 creative development tracks for you to work out your own parts against his first guitar part. Once you've worked through this course you'll also have studio quality jam tracks to craft your solos over. Pretty cool, huh?!

The beauty of this approach is how it mirrors the real world where you generally find yourself working with another guitar player and/or keyboard player at the jam, on stage or in session. The very last thing you want to do is play the same part that another instrument is playing. The Rhythm Architect can craft and perform the perfect part on the fly and so will you!

MelBay - First Lessons Banjo (Book + Online Audio/Video)
DVD5 | English | VIDEO_TS + WAV + PDF Guide | 720 x 480 | AVC ~5000 kbps | 29.970 fps
AC-3 224 Kbps 48.0 KHz | 2 channels | 80 minutes | 3.09 GB

Genre: eLearning Video / Guitar lesson

There are many detailed photos, several from the player's point of view, not from in front of the banjo. First Lessons on Banjo covers the most basic rolls, the Alternating Thumb Roll and two Forward Rolls, plus the three basic chords plus the relative minor chord. All musical examples are presented in tablature, with the melody notes in boldface type so the student knows which notes to emphasize. All arrangements include lyrics, which is very important to the novice who is trying to train the ear to hear the melody among the fill notes. Several tips and suggestions about the proper mental approach are included that will lead to playing by ear and arranging at an earlier stage in the student's development.

There are also suggestions about developing the proper mental approach and about speed reading of tablature. These suggestions are not found in any other banjo instruction book. The 'finale' arrangement is Cripple Creek, a popular banjo standard that when mastered, should give the novice a great sense of accomplishment. The accompanying audio download includes all tabbed examples, with the rhythm instruments and lead banjo in separate channels. The songs are played at three tempos, the first tempo VERY slow, then a medium tempo version, and finally at performing speed with guitar, mandolin and bass accompaniment. The up- tempo accompanied versions are all together at the end of the recording so it the final tracks be used as a listening recording. This also allows the student to play along with all the more interesting arrangements in sequence without skipping around the recording.

Be Part of The Next Generation of Android

Android 5.0, or Lollipop, is the biggest thing to come to Android devices (including tablets) since the development of the Android system.

With Lollipop, you'll never have to miss new email with new displays allowing your inbox to show next to the message you're reading. And with new ripple animations, you'll be able to touch and swipe your screen in new ways.

Developers are just starting to see the potential in this new technology, which means games, videos, and messaging are all about to undergo transformations that were previously unattainable with current platforms.

Combine all this with 64 bit architecture, and improved A/V sync, and you'll be able to use Lollipop to develop apps that you've always dreamed of.

Contents and Overview

During this course you'll learn everything there is to know about developing for Lollipop, including taking advantage of its new animations and crystal clear graphics.

You'll begin with an overview of Lollipop, Google's naming conventions, and Android core concepts.

The majority of Android development uses either Android Developer Tools (Eclipse) and also the newer Android Studio from Google.

In order to maximise your skill set and marketability for future Android work, both tools are explored in detail, include separate setup and configuration videos covering both Mac and Windows.

You'll come away with a solid knowledge of how to install, configure and use both for creating Android apps.

Configuring of Android devices is explored in detail, allowing you to setup your own real Android device for testing or an Android Virtual Device (An emulator which runs on your Mac or PC). This means you can still create apps even if you do not own an Android device!

Once you're up and running with the software, you'll begin hands-on building, beginning with simple apps such as a calculator, a top-10 daily apps display, and even your own Youtube video player.

Each and every step of the build process is shown in detail, and clear explanations are given as to why you are doing things in a certain way, to really solidify your understanding of the Android development process.

Not only can you follow along with the videos step by step and build Android apps, but you will also understand what you are doing as well!

Building these projects will help you understand the basics of Android development, and then in the coming weeks, the more advanced apps being added to the course will show you many of the new techniques and functionality built into the new Lollipop SDK to really make your apps pop!

Cracking the Code - Steve Morse
WEBRip | English | TS + PDF tabs + MP3 jam tracks | 1920 x 1080 | AVC ~3200 kbps | 25 fps
AAC 192 Kbps 44.1 KHz | 2 channels | 15:16:23 | 4.92 GB

Genre: eLearning Video / Guitar lesson

Steve Morse's almost mythical musical capabilities need no introduction. Marrying blazing chops to a singular sense of hook writing creativity, his distinctive brand of rootsy American virtuosity has inspired generations of players to think outside of the pentatonic box. Morse is renowned for reeling off what he calls "un-guitaristic" lines of seemingly impossible complexity. These keyboard- and fiddle-inspired trademark phrases often consist of no more than a single note on any given string. This kind of one-note-per-string arpeggio picking is typically regarded as the domain of fingerpickers, not flatpickers. Yet the effortlessness with which Morse nails these gymnastic routines is the obvious clue that something mechanically magical is happening under the hood.
I was fortunate enough to interview Morse for the Cracking the Code documentary project, and the high-speed camera provides a rare look at the mechanical magic of his arpeggio picking technique.

Morse has written on a number of musical topics right here at Guitar World under the "Morse Code" banner. Now it's time to take a crack at identifying the elusive ingredients of his arpeggio code.

Our latest Masters in Mechanics release explores Steve Morse's mind-boggling chops and peerless creativity - including a breakdown of his seemingly-impossible one-note-per-string alternate picking technique.

It includes over two hours of in-depth investigation:

75-minute interview featuring Steve's alternate picking ingenuity
50+ minutes of our trademark in-depth analysis
48 slow-motion examples with tablature
10 minutes of fun behind-the-scenes footage
